All terms refer to the offer, acceptance and consideration of payment necessary to undertake the process of our assistance to the Client in the most appropriate manner, whether by formal meetings of a fixed duration, or any other means, for the express purpose of meeting the Client’s needs in respect of provision of the Company’s stated services/products, in accordance with and subject to, prevailing English Law. Any use of the above terminology or other words in the singular, plural, capitalisation and/or he/she or they, are taken as interchangeable and therefore as referring to same.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Authorized employees within the company on a need to know basis only use any information collected from individual customers. We constantly review our systems and data to ensure the best possible service to our customers. Parliament has created specific offences for unauthorised actions against computer systems and data. We will investigate any such actions with a view to prosecuting and/or taking civil proceedings to recover damages against those responsible.
Client records are regarded as confidential and therefore will not be divulged to any third party. Clients have the right to request sight of, and copies of any and all Client Records we keep, on the proviso that we are given reasonable notice of such a request. Clients are requested to retain copies of any literature issued in relation to the provision of our services. Where appropriate, we shall issue Client’s with appropriate written information, handouts or copies of records as part of an agreed contract, for the benefit of both parties.
We will not sell, share, or rent your personal information to any third party or use your e-mail address for unsolicited mail. Any emails sent by this Company will only be in connection with the provision of agreed services and products.
Exclusions and Limitations
The information on this web site is provided on an “as is” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, this Company:
- excludes all representations and warranties relating to this website and its contents or which is or may be provided by any affiliates or any other third party, including in relation to any inaccuracies or omissions in this website and/or the Company’s literature; and
- excludes all liability for damages arising out of or in connection with your use of this website. This includes, without limitation, direct loss, loss of business or profits (whether or not the loss of such profits was foreseeable, arose in the normal course of things or you have advised this Company of the possibility of such potential loss), damage caused to your computer, computer software, systems and programs and the data thereon or any other direct or indirect, consequential and incidental damages.
This Company does not however exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence. The above exclusions and limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law. None of your statutory rights as a consumer are affected.
Prices on website are inclusive of VAT. Postage and packing (shipping) is free to buyers within the UK. International buyers must contact us for a shipping quote prior to purchase. We are not bound to deliver the goods until paid for.
Be aware that our marquee letters are all handmade and therefore may have imperfections. If we deem any imperfections to be beyond reasonable bounds we will not offer for sale that letter. Our letters are supplied with a CE rated UK mains plug. Any electrical work on our letters should be carried out by a qualified electrician. Any Old Lights (Letters) assume no responsibility or liability for any property damage, personal injury and/or death, or any other loss or damage that may result from your use of any product supplied by Any Old Lights (Letters).
PayPal or BACS Transfer are acceptable methods of payment. Our Terms are payment in full at point of sale. All goods remain the property of the Company until paid for in full. Monies that remains outstanding after the due date will incur late payment interest at the rate of 2% above the prevailing Bank of England’s base rate on the outstanding balance until such time as the balance is paid in full and final settlement. We reserve the right to seek recovery of any monies remaining unpaid sixty days from the date of invoice via collection Agencies and/or through the Small Claims Court in the event that the outstanding balance does not exceed £3000. In such circumstances, you shall be liable for any and all additional administrative and/or court costs.
We ship via Hermes, UPS and Royal Mail at no cost to the buyer to addresses within the UK. Hermes deliveries typically take 3-5 days to arrive, after collection; UPS and Royal Mail tend to be quicker. If an alternative shipping service is required by the buyer then Any Old Lights (Letters) will charge the buyer for that shipping service. We are happy to provide a shipping quote for this alternative service, which the buyer can choose to accept or decline. If the buyer declines, the transaction is voided and any monies paid will be refunded in full. We ship internationally and all shipping costs are paid by the buyer. We provide a shipping quote for the buyer, which the buyer can choose to accept or decline. If the buyer declines, the transaction is voided and any monies paid will be refunded in full.
Your Cancellation Policy
Minimum 24 hours notice of cancellation required. Notification for instance via email or mobile phone text message will be accepted subject to confirmation in writing. We reserve the right to levy a £30 charge to cover any subsequent administrative expenses.
If goods have already been shipped, they must be returned to us at the website address. Once received in the condition in which the goods were sent, we shall refund the monies paid, less a 20% handling/retesting charge (drive from Fowey to Par lockup for collection of goods and return; packaging and shipper-booking; drive to drop-off for deployment to shipper and return; repeat journey and retesting of returned letter for serviceability) and less any shipping costs paid by us.
The notice you provide will operate to cancel the agreement based on the following requirements
- You must return the goods to us at the address given in the website footer.
- The goods must be returned to us complete and in perfect (resalable) condition.
- You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us at the address given above.
- You are responsible to take reasonable care of the goods (including reusable packaging, manuals etc) until they are returned to us.
- You are responsible to take reasonable care to see that they are received by us and not damaged or lost in transit.
- We will charge you the direct costs to us of recovering any goods supplied by us if you fail to return the goods.
Cancellation of any order processed through our automated website (considering goods are not yet despatched), will be refunded less 3% to cover credit card processing fee’s levied by PayPal on the initial sale. Any refund approved by management will be sale value less this amount. An invoice will be created detailing sale, refund and charge.
Our Cancellation Policy
If for reasons beyond our reasonable control, including, but not limited to an inability or failure on the part of the manufacturers or suppliers of the goods to supply the goods to us, we are unable to supply the goods to you, we may cancel the agreement at any time before the goods are delivered by giving notice to you. We will promptly repay to you any sums paid by you in relation the agreement. We will not be liable for any other loss or damage whatever arising from such cancellation.
Unless otherwise stated, the services featured on this website are only available within the United Kingdom, or in relation to postings from the United Kingdom. All advertising is intended solely for the United Kingdom market. You are solely responsible for evaluating the fitness for a particular purpose of any downloads, programs and text available through this site. Redistribution or republication of any part of this site or its content is prohibited, including such by framing or other similar or any other means, without the express written consent of the Company. The Company does not warrant that the service from this site will be uninterrupted, timely or error free, although it is provided to the best ability.
